Today is Literacy International. It was established by UNESCO to raise awareness of illiteracy and low literacy. Even in our province, this is still not a thing of the past. Ligo, formerly the Centres for Basic Education, offers tailor-made courses to strengthen adult literacy. They commissioned a documentary about what it means not to be proficient in a language. And it premieres this evening at the Casino in Genk.
