Google’s AI Subscriptions Get a New $100 Tier, a Price Cut, and New Features Across All Plans
Google is replacing daily prompt caps with compute-based limits and lowering AI Ultra to $100 a month for developers and creators.
On Tuesday, Google announced a restructured AI subscription lineup at its I/O 2026 showcase, introducing a new $100-a-month AI Ultra tier while cutting its top-tier plan from $250 to $200.
Alongside the pricing restructuring, Google is moving from daily prompt limits to a compute-based model that factors in prompt complexity, features used, and chat length, with limits refreshing every five hours.
The new $100-a-month plan targets developers with 5X the usage limits of the AI Pro plan, Gemini 3.5 Flash integration, 20TB of cloud storage, YouTube Premium, and priority access to Google Antigravity.
Users hitting capacity on larger models automatically shift to faster, smaller alternatives, while AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can purchase pay-as-you-go top-up credits for Google Antigravity and Flow.
The restructuring puts Google in direct competition with OpenAI's ChatGPT Pro and Anthropic's Claude, leveraging deep integration across Gmail, Docs, Drive, Android, Chrome and YouTube while emphasizing 'agentic workflows' for autonomous task completion.
