UN says an expansion of Israel's war in Gaza would be 'deeply alarming'
GAZA STRIP, AUG 6 – Netanyahu seeks complete military control over Gaza to defeat Hamas amid warnings that such action risks catastrophic consequences and worsens humanitarian crises, UN officials said.
- The UN Assistant Secretary General warned that an expansion of Israel's war in Gaza would be 'deeply alarming' and endanger the lives of Palestinians and Israeli hostages held by Hamas.
- Israel accused Russia, other UN Security Council members, and the media of perpetuating lies, while insisting it is facilitating huge amounts of aid to Gaza that Hamas is looting.
- The Gaza Health Ministry reported at least 188 Palestinian deaths from malnutrition, while the UN said over two-thirds of verified deaths were women and children.
