- With refineries running at seasonally high output, refinery utilization rose 0.3 percentage points to 94.8% and implied gasoline demand increased to 9.078 million barrels per day, easing prices.
- While diesel fell, the national average diesel dropped 5.4 cents to $3.521, and AAA reported a $2.82 gasoline average, down 3 cents.
- All but a handful of states saw prices move lower, and some stations in nearly a dozen states dipped below $2, while Natrona County, Wyoming stayed cheapest at $2.08 with Monday lows of $1.95 at Sam's Club, 4600 E. 2nd St.
- Amid geopolitical strains, the EIA's weekly report for the week ending on December 12, 2025 showed U.S. oil inventories fell by 1.3 million barrels and are about 4% below the seasonal average while the SPR rose 12 million barrels to 412.2 million.
