- On Tuesday, OCS Group International Ltd. agreed to acquire Mitie Group Plc in a deal valued at around £3.1 billion , marking the latest UK-listed company to exit the stock market.
- Mitie shareholders will receive up to 221.6p per share in cash and dividends, representing a premium of nearly 45% over the 151p closing price on Monday.
- By combining forces, the companies will manage Mitie's around 84,000 employees and OCS Group's more than 135,000 staff, maintaining existing contracts with the NHS and Government departments.
- The acquisition joins a fast-growing exodus of UK-listed firms; EasyJet Plc, Rotork Plc, and Tate & Lyle Plc have all agreed to similar deals this year, as London loses more than $2 billion weekly to takeovers.
- Expecting completion during the first three months of 2027 pending shareholder approval, the deal reflects a broader trend where mergers and acquisitions targeting London-listed companies surged almost 130% this year to $64 billion.
