A Federal Trade Commission analysis shows adults over age 60 reporting $100,000 or more in losses to scammers impersonating government agencies or businesses increased more than 700% over five years. Combined reported losses of individuals 60 and over went from $55 million in 2020 to $445 million in 2024, the agency said.
