On a visit to Athens, Emmanuel Macron welcomed "a global and strategic partnership" that "will focus on defence and security" but also on "energy, economy, culture, innovation."
The "Strategic Partnership Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Defence and Security," signed between Greece and France in 2021, was renewed indefinitely during French President Macron's visit to Athens.
France and Greece extended the defence partnership agreement for another five years, which was first signed in 2021, and according to Bloomberg and eKathimerini, the contract was automatically extended after the expiration of this period, and the signing ceremony took place on Saturday at the residence of the head of the Greek government in Maximos in Athens.
