Kaohsiung, July 15 (CNA) A French national was detained last week for allegedly attempting to smuggle heroin into Taiwan by swallowing 101 capsules containing the drug, the Ciaotou District Prosecutors Office in Kaohsiung said Wednesday.
The Qiaotou District Prosecutors Office received intelligence that a French man would be smuggling drugs into Taiwan by air. After obtaining his flight information, the office directed the Kaohsiung City Criminal Investigation Division and other units to intercept him at Taoyuan Airport on the 7th.
