- Indiana DNR announced 45 track chairs will be distributed statewide, with Jeremy Warriner taking the inaugural ride at Fort Harrison State Park on March 17, 2026.
- The $1 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. funded 45 new chairs, supplementing about a dozen existing devices and 13 powered mobility chairs, Indiana DNR said.
- All-Terrain electric chairs feature an eight-hour charge, about 20 years lifespan, and were delivered in two waves: first half last week, second half shipped on Tuesday by ATZ Manufacturing.
- Brandt Baughman, Director of Indiana State Parks, said 'These track chairs will be available to use at no additional cost for our guests,' and parks will offer reservations by phone/online on a first-come, first-served basis while park staff receive training.
- Indiana's rollout positions the state as a national leader in accessibility, with all parks now offering at least one track chair, according to Indiana DNR said; 'Many of us tell ourselves these lies when we acquire disabilities that we're not going to be able to do those things again,' Warriner said.
