Anita Martens (85) from Zulte fell victim to internet scammers last weekend. She lost thousands of euros in savings and unsuspectingly also gave her laptop, mobile phone and some jewelry. "I still can't understand why I did that," sighs Anita. "I mainly want to warn others so that the same thing doesn't happen to them."
Fraudsters Continue to Rampage: Two People in Vilnius and Klaipėda Were Swindled Out of Almost 60 Thousand Euros
The police recorded two major fraud cases in the past 24 hours, during which 58.5 thousand euros were defrauded from residents in Vilnius and Klaipėda. As the Police Department reported on Friday, on Thursday afternoon in the capital, a woman born in 1946 was called by unknown persons who, having introduced themselves as police officers, fraudulently defrauded her of 45 thousand euros.
