Modern Family Duo Returns With Wild New Comedy Series at Fox
Christopher Lloyd and Danny Zuker will co-showrun the series, which follows a gym teacher thawed out 40 years after an avalanche.
- Fox Entertainment Studios ordered a new live-action comedy series, 'Mammoth,' from Modern Family co-creator Christopher Lloyd and executive producer Danny Zuker, slated for the 2027-2028 season.
- Coach Tony Mammoth, a high school gym teacher, is buried in a 1983 ski avalanche and frozen in time. He awakens 40 years later to find a radically transformed world he struggles to accept.
- This project marks Fox's first live-action comedy series greenlight in more than two years, as the network currently operates with only one live-action, half-hour comedy, 'Animal Control,' on its schedule.
- Fox Television Network president Michael Thorn called the premise "incredibly funny" and "a wildly original comedy with huge laughs, deep heart, and characters everyone will relate to." Zuker added that Tony's "bravado doesn't quite match his new reality."
- Lloyd and Zuker, who won multiple Emmys for 'Modern Family,' reunite here alongside BBC Studios Los Angeles and Bubbins. They previously collaborated on the 2007 Fox series 'Back to You,' starring Kelsey Grammer.
