Fox Corporation Acquires Caliente TV in Mexico

Fox Corporation announced today the acquisition of Caliente TV, one of Mexico’s main sports platforms. Fox will carry out with this acquisition a multi-platform business, which will include a new pay channel and a SVOD platform (video service on demand where users pay a monthly or annual fee to access the content), which will join TUBI, adding 3,000 hours of reproduction of sports content.

Fox Corporation, the U.S. media company, will expand its sports broadcasting business in Mexico with a new acquisition following the failed attempt to buy Fox Sports Mexico.The company, led by the Murdoch family, purchased the Hot TV streaming platform as part of its strategy focused on Mexico and Latin America, Fox Corp. said in a statement.The financial terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
