Former Newton Mayor Setti Warren Dies at 55
Setti Warren was the first popularly elected African-American mayor in Massachusetts and led Newton from 2010 to 2018 before directing Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics.
Setti Warren, the former mayor of Newton, Massachusetts, died at his home on Sunday at age 55.
Warren served Newton as mayor for eight years from 2010 to 2018, becoming the first popularly elected Black American mayor in Massachusetts.
Before his death, Warren was an adjunct lecturer and director of the Kennedy School's Institute of Politics.
