- Following the Dec. 9, 2024 transfer, Brooks was beaten multiple times, with the last attack in the infirmary ruled a homicide by the medical examiner, prosecutors say, and guards acted like a gang that night.
- During six days of testimony prosecutors presented bodycam video and 12 prosecution witnesses, plus dozens of exhibits, with Axon body cameras capturing the beating from multiple angles.
- The verdicts produced immediate courtroom consequences, including Kingsley being led out in handcuffs, having bail revoked, and scheduled for sentencing on Dec. 16; Galliher and Kieffer were acquitted.
- Several other guards have pleaded guilty and some are cooperating, while Michael Fisher is scheduled for trial on Jan. 12, 2026, and Brooks' son plans to urge reform on Oct. 21.
