- N. Biren Singh, the former Manipur Chief Minister, flew to New Delhi with BJP MLAs Tongbram Robindro, Sapam Ranjan, and Heikham Dingo on Saturday, October 4, 2025, to press for a `new popular government`.
- Following N. Biren Singh's resignation on February 9, 2025, the state moved under central rule with President's Rule imposed on February 13, 2025 after prolonged ethnic violence since May 3, 2023.
- Delegation members plan to meet Sambit Patra and seek an appointment with Amit Shah, while Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel and N. Ashok Kumar also departed for Delhi.
- Two groups of MLAs are already in New Delhi, with several camping there, while others including T. Satyabrata Singh, Assembly Speaker, are expected to leave Imphal on Sunday.
- Before this trip, party leaders had unsuccessfully lobbied central leaders in August, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's September 13 visit drew criticism, and Parliament extended President's Rule from August 13, 2025.
