- Darwin Núñez, 26-year-old forward, has been excluded from Al-Hilal's Saudi Pro League squad for the rest of the Saudi Pro League season, limiting his domestic opportunities.
- Due to registration limits, Saudi Pro League sides can register only eight foreign players aged 21 and above, and Al-Hilal named its non-Saudi eight-man list for league matches this month.
- The 26-year-old joined Al-Hilal for a £46 million transfer fee last August after Liverpool, scoring six goals in 16 Saudi Pro League games and one in five AFC Champions League Elite matches.
- With Núñez now unavailable, he will miss Friday's game against Al-Ettifaq and may only play six club matches before the World Cup, including one in the AFC Champions League on Monday.
- Looking ahead, not being on the eight-man Pro League list raises concerns for Núñez ahead of the World Cup with Uruguay in Group H, amid transfer-listed status and links to Fenerbahce.
