Former Brisbane GP Stan Theodoros charged with 148 counts of rape and sexual assault

- On Tuesday, Queensland Police charged 74-year-old former Brisbane doctor Stellios Theodoros with 148 offenses, including 94 counts of rape and 54 counts of sexual assault occurring between 2000 and 2015.
- Upper Mount Gravatt Criminal Investigation Branch detectives established Operation Xray Cariyna in August last year after multiple women made complaints regarding the former Wellers Hill Medical Centre GP.
- One former patient who made a police complaint told the ABC the charges were "a long time coming," describing them as "the biggest milestone" for accountability.
- UMG CIB Detective Senior Sergeant Denis Silk described the crimes as a "deplorable violation of trust," stating investigators remain committed to "pursuing every avenue to seek justice for the victim-survivors."
- Theodoros is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 23, while Police investigations continue and officials encourage anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers.
