Fujiwara Sakuya, former head of the Jiji Press editorial department and deputy governor of the Bank of Japan, passed away at 9:39 pm on the 17th due to hepatocellular carcinoma. He was 88 years old and was from Sendai City. The funeral was held by close relatives. The chief mourner was his eldest daughter, Mukai Yoko. In 1962, he was appointed to Jiji Press.
