Former Air Force pilot who provided ‘defense services’ to Chinese military arrested: DOJ
Gerald Eddie Brown Jr. allegedly trained Chinese military pilots without a State Department license, violating the Arms Export Control Act and related laws, DOJ said.

- Federal prosecutors allege Brown "willfully conspired with foreign nationals" in or around August 2023 to train the People's Liberation Army Air Force and traveled to China in December 2023 after negotiating with Stephen Su Bin.
- Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg said Brown now faces charges for training Chinese military pilots, he is set to appear before a Magistrate Judge in the Southern District of Indiana on Thursday, and FBI Louisville is assisting the investigation.
- The United States Air Force trained Major Brown as an elite fighter pilot, and the DOJ says he conspired to provide defense services to Chinese pilots without authorization, violating the AECA.
