Food prices rose by 5.4 percent year-on-year in March, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB). This is the highest price increase in 16 months. Prices of chocolate and coffee are soaring by around 30 percent compared to a year earlier.

Year-on-year inflation in March 4.4 percent - coffee, tea and cocoa prices rose the most among foodstuffs
Consumer prices in March 2025, compared to the same month of the previous year, increased by 4.4 percent, the Republic Bureau of Statistics announced. Among the foods that have risen in price the most are coffee, tea and cocoa with a year-on-year price increase of 21.3 percent, followed by sugar, jam, honey and chocolate with a price increase of 17.5 percent.
