The Philadelphia Flyers kicked off NHL Free Agency with a busy start. According to Elliote Friedman, the Flyers and UFA center Christian Dvorak have agreed to a one-year deal worth $5.4 million. Dvorak, 29, is coming off a 33-point season with the Montreal Canadiens where he scored 12 goals and 21 assists. The 6’1” centerman played all 82 games last season for the Habs. The Flyers did their first dive into free agency this year, signing former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Noah Juulsen to a one-year, one-way $900,000 contract. Juulsen, 28 and a native of Surrey, B.C., is a bigger blueliner at 6’1″ and 201 pounds but only played 35 games for the Canucks last season.
