Flood watch affecting Northeast Pa. Thursday and Friday triggered by excessive rain

NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA, JUL 30 – A flood watch covers six counties due to saturated ground and heavy rain, with flash flooding possible in low-lying areas, the National Weather Service said.

At 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday, the National Weather Service released a flood watch valid from Thursday 2 p.m. until Friday 5 a.m. for Northern Wayne and Southern Wayne as well as Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties.The weather service states, "Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible."
