Police name man whose body was found in suitcase in Kent as Dale Mundell
Two men have been charged and remanded in custody as police say the victim and suspects knew each other.
The Metropolitan Police released the first picture of Dale Mundell, 34, from Islington, who was found dead inside a suitcase on Friday, July 10, in a wooded area of Borstal, Kent.
Officers were initially called to Kingfisher Court in Wimbledon on Thursday, July 9, following a welfare report; although no one was found, police believed someone had "come to harm" at the address.
The following day, police discovered the body more than 30 miles away at the Borstal Recreation Ground, where a children's teddy bear hunt was being hosted. Police confirmed Mundell and the two charged men were known to each other.
Joshua Miller, 32, and co-defendant Jamie Cooper, 27, appeared at Medway Magistrates Court on Monday, July 13, with Miller facing murder and preventing a lawful burial charges; Cooper is charged with preventing a lawful burial.
Miller will appear at Maidstone Crown Court today, Wednesday, July 15, while both men remain remanded into custody. They will return for a plea hearing on Monday, August 10.
