11 fire crews and six aircraft worked to bring the fire that broke out on Leap Mountain under control, apparently due to burning debris that spilled into the open area. The incident commander said: "This is a fire in challenging topographic terrain combined with strong winds that accelerated the spread of the fire."
A large fire broke out on Mount Hapkiv in Nazareth and spread on two fronts, threatening buildings and the Ix'al tunnels. 11 fire crews, KKL-JNF crews and 6 firefighting aircraft worked for 4 hours to contain the fire. The fire was apparently caused by burning waste.
