CDF Munir Warns Pakistan's Response to Any Future ‘Misadventure’ Will Be ‘Extremely Widespread, Painful’
Munir said Pakistan’s defence is ready for multi-domain warfare as he praised military and diplomatic gains from last year’s conflict with India.
- On Saturday, Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff, joined Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Admiral Naveed Ashraf at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to commemorate the first anniversary of the 'Marka-e-Haq' conflict.
- Spanning April 22 to May 10, 2025, the 19-day conflict was a 'decisive marka' between two ideologies, Munir said. Pakistan 'successfully targeted more than 26 military targets,' prompting India to seek a ceasefire mediated by the United States.
- Warning against future 'misadventure,' Munir declared that aggression against Pakistan would result in 'extremely far-reaching and painful' consequences. Future conflicts will prioritize 'multi-domain operations' incorporating cyber warfare, drones, and artificial intelligence.
- Pakistan 'achieved success on the diplomatic front,' Munir stated, citing the 'Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement' with Saudi Arabia and hosting 'historic negotiations' between the United States and Iran. He thanked President Donald Trump for 'trusting Pakistan with this difficult task.'
- Munir demanded that Afghanistan stop supporting 'Fitna al Khawarij' and 'Fitna al Hindustan' on India's directives. He insisted Afghanistan must 'completely eradicate the centres and safe havens of terrorism' on its soil.
