The defending champion Felix Lebrun was eliminated in the second round by his compatriot Simon Gauzy (3-2), who took his revenge in the year after his defeat against the young Héraultais.
At home, the title holder fell in five rounds against the 31-year-old Toulosain (4-11, 11-8, 12-10, 6-11, 11-5) in the eighth final of the WTT Champions in Montpellier.
