Farage says he is worried Trump will step up Iran war after midterm 'disaster'
Farage said Republican losses could prompt more strikes on Iran and warned the war could raise oil prices and inflation.
On Thursday, Nigel Farage described Republican midterm losses as an "absolute shellacking," warning that President Donald Trump may "aggressively" continue military action in Iran despite the political fallout.
Farage blamed the results on Trump having "broke a promise" regarding foreign wars; the ongoing Iran conflict, which began in February 2026, continues driving up fuel prices and hurting the Republican Party.
Trump acknowledged on Tuesday that war contributed to Republican losses but insisted he did not regret the joint attack with Israel, claiming on Truth Social he would have won in a "LANDSLIDE."
The Democrats swept power in Congress in the United States earlier this week, though Farage noted voters angry with the President's actions might still support Republicans in the next election in 2028.
Escalating attacks on Iran could have "serious implications for the price of oil, for inflation, for the whole western world," Farage warned, adding that voters want the world to focus on things that matter.
