Families of Political Prisoners Condemned to Death Rally Outside Evin Prison

In the Iranian year 1403 (March 2024 – March 2025) 1,153 executions were carried out in 94 prisons, representing an increase of 42% compared to 1402 (March 2023 – March 2024). 961 of these executions (83%) were carried out during the term of the new Iranian president Massoud Pezeshkian. Among the victims were 38 women and 7 juvenile offenders, and 7 executions were carried out in public with extreme brutality.
