Extension of the S13 between Beuel and Troisdorf: Last construction phase brings closures and criticism of the "Stummel-Bahn"

From June, the final construction phase of the S13 will start between Troisdorf and Beuel – with closures and massive reconstruction measures. But even after 2026, an unfinished connection threatens. Critics speak of a "stummel-bumble train".

Deutsche Bahn is pushing ahead with the expansion of the right-wing Rhine S13 between Troisdorf and Bonn: from June, another bundled construction marathon will begin, which will then run until the end of the year. A new electronic interlocking station will be built in Bonn-Beuel, new tracks, bridges and stops.
