The Excise Department and the police conducted a joint operation against the manufacture, sale and smuggling of illicit liquor in Raebareli. In the operation conducted on the instructions of District Magistrate Sarneet Kaur Broka, 68 liters of illicit raw liquor was recovered, while 550 kg of lahan (mixture used for making raw liquor) was destroyed on the spot.
