Faced with an unpredictable Donald Trump and an aggressive Russian, Europeans support the increase in defence costs and, in some countries, the reintroduction of compulsory military service shows a survey carried out in 12 EU states for the European Council for External Relations (ECFR), quoted by The Guardian.
The survey reached over 16,000 people in 12 countries.
In the context of an increasingly aggressive Russia and uncertainty about any return of Donald Trump to the White House, Europeans are shown to favour the increase in defence costs and, in some countries, the reintroduction of compulsory military service.
