Brussels - The European Commission today unveiled an initiative called the European Democracy Shield to better counter manipulation of information, election interference and disinformation, in particular from Russia, the Commission said in a statement. At the heart of the initiative will be a new European Centre for Democratic Resilience, which will coordinate and share information on manipulation and disinformation campaigns.
