The Esports Nations Cup Announces National Partners For Debut Event
More than 100 countries received National Team Partner status from the Esports Foundation to launch a nation-based championship expanding the Esports World Cup format.
- On Wednesday, the Esports Foundation awarded National Team Partner status to organizations across more than 100 countries for the inaugural Esports Nations Cup , debuting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 2 to 29, 2026.
- Selected from more than 630 applications submitted by 150 countries, the biennial ENC complements the annual club-based Esports World Cup to provide stable structures for players and long-term investment in national programs.
- Partner structures range from established bodies like the Korea Esports Association to club-led coalitions in Brazil and the USA, with teams competing in a dozen games including Apex Legends, Chess, and Valorant.
- This launch establishes the first recurring, large-scale platform for national teams in esports, following the International Olympic Committee's cancellation last October of a 12-year deal with Saudi Arabia for a 2027 tournament.
- Following its Riyadh debut, the ENC will adopt a rotating city model for future events, while the Esports Foundation plans to release additional information about the tournament in the coming weeks.
