His Royal Highness, The Duke of Gloucester, has officially opened Richmond’s newest Almshouses.
The Duke, who is the Vice Patron of The Almshouse Association, took a tour of the properties in Mitre Mews and met residents. Almshouses are charitable houses or flats which provide affordable and independent living spaces for people in need. The Richmond Charities’ next new development of 12 almshouses, in Queen’s Road in Richmond, will be completed soon.
