The Commission de régulation de l'énergie (CRE) announced on Monday, 10 August, that the reference price of gas would soon increase. About 60% of French gas subscribers will see their bill increase by 5.6% on 1 September next. - The reference price of gas will increase by 5.6% on 1 September, 60% of the French users concerned (Economie).
This increase is "totally linked to the rise in gas prices on the markets", fuelled by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission.
The price will increase to 172.05 euros TTC of the megawatt hour on average, according to the energy constable.
