Until recently, Tesla was the most popular electric car on Chinese roads, and the US company's founder, Elon Musk, was carried on the shoulders of the country's politicians. Tesla was showered with benefits and incentives just to settle in China and not only sell its cars here, but also to push up the entire Chinese electric car market. And E.
