Members of the Elks Lodge 714 in Bridgeport continue the tradition of making Decorated Palm for Palm Sunday. Members of the Elks and community volunteers contributed their time on April 9th and 10th at the lodge making these special items. The tradition that was started by Mount Carmel Church in Bridgeport. Palmbuses count as symbols of Palm Sunday. The green branches decorated with colorful ribbons and the willow kittens symbolize the palm trees with which the people welcomed Jesus when he arrived in Jerusalem.
