Pope Francis asked to be messengers of hope "while so many winds of death still blow upon us", in the homily he had prepared for the Vigil of the Holy Saturday and that in his absence, while continuing his convalescence for his respiratory infection, he was read by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re in the Basilica of Saint Peter.
