Earth Day: DENR pushes shift to renewable energy

As the country observed Earth Day, Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo Loyzaga underscored the urgency of a unified, multi-sectoral approach to combat climate change and accelerate the transition to renewable energy.

Earth Day, which has been celebrated every year on April 22 for 55 years, is one of the most important global dates dedicated to environmental protection. This year's theme was "Our energy, our planet", and the goal is to mobilize the widespread use of renewable energy sources, in order to double their use by 2030 at the latest.
