Duluth Man Charged with Fatally Stabbing Wife

A 37-year-old Duluth man, Corddarro Andrew Cope, was charged with fatally stabbing his wife, Anissa Cope, 49, at their apartment Saturday night.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., a nearby resident contacted emergency services after hearing a woman screaming and noises suggesting someone was being violently moved inside the apartment at 601 N. 27th Ave. W.
Officers arrived shortly after and discovered Anissa lying in a pool of blood, suffering from numerous deep stab injuries to her arms, stomach, and neck.
Corddarro Cope fled in the victim’s truck and was taken into custody shortly afterward along I-35 in Pine County, with blood visible on his hands, abdomen, and feet.
This case marks the second murder reported in Duluth this month, occurring less than two weeks after a separate fatal shooting, with Cope now facing second-degree murder charges and a $1 million bail request.
