Dublin Hotel Accused of Antisemitism by Jewish Group
The hotel withdrew 70 rooms after questioning whether the civilian summit had ties to the Israel Defense Forces, organizers said.
On Tuesday, Maurice Cohen, chairman of the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland, disclosed that the Herbert Park Hotel in Dublin canceled 70 rooms reserved for delegates attending the 15th meeting of the Special Envoys and Coordinators Combating Antisemitism .
Hotel management reportedly withdrew the booking after questioning whether the gathering had links to the Israel Defense Forces , though Cohen stated the summit was entirely civilian and diplomatic with no military involvement.
This incident occurs amid rising concerns about hostility toward Jews in Ireland, where 143 antisemitic incidents were recorded between July 2025 and January 2026, and leaders have reported increasing harassment in public spaces.
The European Jewish Congress called the cancellation "deeply disturbing," noting it reflects the prejudice that such gatherings seek to confront, while the hotel has declined to comment on the allegations.
Delegates from the J7 Large Communities' Task Force Against Antisemitism visited Dublin from 12 to 14 October, focusing the conference on protecting Jewish life through regulation of online platforms and emerging technologies.
