Daniel Thomas faces trial in 2027 over migrant site accusations
Thomas denies five Dover charges after his earlier guilty plea was vacated over advice he may have received from his solicitor.
On Wednesday, anti-migrant activist Daniel Thomas appeared via video link at Westminster Magistrates' Court and denied entering a restricted zone at Dover port. The 37-year-old, known as Danny Tommo, faces trial from June 1 to June 3 next year.
Thomas had previously pleaded guilty to the March 31 restricted zone charge, but vacated this plea after the court heard he may have received incorrect legal advice from his solicitor.
He also denies five other charges, including trespassing at Dover Western Docks and the Dunkirk Jetty to "film and shout at vessels arriving," along with allegations of racially abusive behavior. He remains in custody at HMP Winchester.
Prosecutors also allege Thomas slashed a migrant dinghy crossing the English Channel in a separate criminal damage case for which he was denied bail in September. He awaits a review hearing on November 18.
Basingstoke Magistrates' Court heard the father of four is expecting his fifth child as legal proceedings continue. The upcoming trial will address allegations spanning from March through April.
