The driver of a car was taken to hospital in Liverpool with serious injuries after his vehicle hit a tree on the A5/A483 at Gobowen this morning. Two passengers were taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. The accident happened close to the Five Crosses (Orthopaedic) roundabout at 1.34am and left the road closed in both directions up to the B5009 (Gobowen) turn-off. The road reopened at around 9.40am and traffic is now running as normal.
