DRDO Successfully Flight-Tests Third-Generation Fire-and-Forget Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile | Watch – Firstpost

  • Using indigenous subsystems developed by DRDO sister labs, the MPATGM integrates an Imaging Infrared seeker and all-electric control systems, while Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur supplied a Thermal Target System for moving-target trials.
  • The MPATGM's Imaging Infrared seeker provides day-and-night targeting, equipped with a tandem warhead to defeat modern tanks and launchable from tripod-mounted and military vehicle-based launchers.
  • Dr Samir V. Kamat congratulated the team and said the trial paves the way for induction into the Indian Army, while Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited are the development-cum-production partners.
  • The test used a Thermal Target System from Defence Laboratory, Jodhpur to simulate a tank, and the moving-target flight-test took place on January 11, 2026.
