- Taken into custody on Sunday , Riyaz was wanted for killing constable Amar Empalli Pramod Kumar and had attacked Asif near Sarangapur.
- During a scuffle at the hospital he grabbed a weapon from an officer and allegedly tried to open fire, while Asif suffered serious injuries helping police.
- The police department announced that DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy pledged support including �1 crore, �16 lakh, �8 lakh, a government job, and a 3-yard housing plot for Pramod's family.
- The Telangana Police Department paid tribute to Amar Empalli Pramod Kumar, constable, as martyred in the line of duty, while DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy affirmed commitment to law and order.
