Dozens rescued or evacuated in Wales as Storm Claudia floods Monmouth
- On Saturday, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service declared a major incident in Monmouth after severe flooding forced dozens of residents to be rescued or evacuated.
- Storm Claudia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Agency, battered southeast Wales with nearly 12 centimeters of rain overnight and 119.6mm recorded at the Tafalog rain gauge in Gwent.

Wales was hit by flooding on Saturday, caused by Storm Claudia. People have been evacuated from their homes in Monmouth, Wales. “I would urge the public to avoid the area altogether if possible,” Matt Jones of the Welsh Emergency Services told The Guardian.
