- On Saturday, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service declared a major incident in Monmouth after severe flooding forced dozens of residents to be rescued or evacuated.
- Storm Claudia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Agency, battered southeast Wales with nearly 12 centimeters of rain overnight and 119.6mm recorded at the Tafalog rain gauge in Gwent.
- Rescue teams carried out welfare checks, evacuations and rescues amid blocked routes and fast-moving water, with firefighters working alongside Gwent Police, Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust, SARA, Mountain Rescue and the Coastguard.
- More than 90 flood warnings were active on Saturday morning, Monmouthshire County Council reported road closures and urged people not to drive into town, while rail services on the Newport–Hereford railway remain closed until Monday.
- Natural Resources Wales cautioned that slow‑responding rivers will continue to rise, as River Monnow reached record levels exceeding Storm Dennis and Storm Bert, and Honor Criswick warned of a colder Arctic air intrusion.

Wales was hit by flooding on Saturday, caused by Storm Claudia. People have been evacuated from their homes in Monmouth, Wales. “I would urge the public to avoid the area altogether if possible,” Matt Jones of the Welsh Emergency Services told The Guardian.
