‘Euphoria’: Who Died in the Season 3 Finale? Episode 8 Explained
The finale ends with Rue overdosing, Laurie hanging herself and Nate dying as the season closes on a chain of violent fallout.
The HBO drama Euphoria concluded its third season on Sunday, May 31, 2026, with the death of protagonist Rue Bennett occurring 44 minutes into the 104-minute finale.
Drug kingpin Alamo Brown orchestrated the fatal scheme after discovering Rue was cooperating with federal authorities, providing her with Percocet laced with fentanyl that proved lethal.
Earlier in season three, character Nate Jacobs died after being buried alive in a coffin by Naz, with a rattlesnake killing him during a planned 72-hour entombment.
Creator Sam Levinson said he had "no plans" to extend Euphoria into a fourth season, while actress Zendaya called her final shooting day "a very emotional day."
While HBO has not officially confirmed season three as the show's finale, Zendaya is set to star in The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Dune: Part Three later this year.
