'Do not eat' warning issued to Asda and Sainsbury's shoppers after recall
The Food Standards Agency warned that mispacked bars may trigger peanut allergies, and customers are urged to return affected packs for a full refund.
On Tuesday, Halo Foods Ltd recalled Skinny Crunch Light Peanut Butter Bars sold at Asda and Sainsbury's across England and Scotland due to undeclared peanuts in the packaging.
Peanut butter bars were accidentally placed inside Skinny Whip Toffee wrappers during production, causing the wrappers to fail declaring peanuts as an ingredient and creating a potential health risk.
The recall affects five-packs of 20g bars marked with batch code 6238 and a best before date of August 2027, with affected boxes containing individual bars carrying time stamps between 8.30am and 10.30am.
Consumers who have bought the affected product are urged not to eat it; customers should return the bars to the store where purchased for a full refund.
Shoppers with questions can contact the customer helpline on 0800 298 3969 or email Enquiries@skinnybars.co.uk, while the Food Standards Agency has notified allergy support organisations to help spread the warning.
