Disneyland Resort Announces Fan Favorites Are Coming to 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge'
Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge will feature classic Star Wars characters and updated storylines, expanding the timeline from 3 ABY to 35 ABY with new meet-and-greets and music.
- On April 29, Disneyland will expand Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge timeline to include the original trilogy with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia Organa at the West Coast Black Spire Outpost.
- Walt Disney Imagineering said Galaxy's Edge's neutral 'Wild West' design enabled the era shift, citing guest preference and The Mandalorian & Grogu film this year plus next year's 50th anniversary of Star Wars.
- Implementation will include redistricting Black Spire Outpost near Millennium Falcon, Oga's Cantina and TIE Echelon Fighter, adding John Williams scores, revising shops like Dok-Ondar's and Droid Depot, and a new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run mission on May 22.
- Darth Vader will replace Kylo Ren in Galaxy's Edge, while Kylo Ren moves to Tomorrowland's Star Wars Launch Bay; Rey, Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian, Grogu, and R2-D2 will shift to story-appropriate zones.
- The move turns Galaxy's Edge into a 'greatest hits' land, with Walt Disney Imagineering noting storytelling opportunities and challenges; additional details and an Echoes of the Empire comic debut will arrive on April 22.
