Designs for the two Olympic cauldrons revealed ahead of 2026 Winter Games
The dual cauldrons, inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's knots, celebrate the Olympic Flame's 7,400-mile relay and will be lit simultaneously in Milan and Cortina D'Ampezzo.

- Built from aeronautical aluminum, the cauldrons mechanically expand to nearly 15 feet and contract to roughly 10 feet; one will be at Arco della Pace, Milan, and the other at Piazza Dibona, Cortina D'Ampezzo.
- The Olympic Flame will remain lit until Feb. 22, marking the end of the Winter Games, then relit on March 6 for the Paralympic Winter Games through March 15.
- Positioning Milan and Cortina as endpoints, two Leonardo-inspired Cauldrons will be lit simultaneously on March 6, marking a historic first for the 2026 Winter Games as part of the relay passing through more than 60 cities and all 10 provinces of Italy.
